The short story is that I grew up in a world of photography so it is like breathing. I can’t seem to live without taking pictures. I went to DeAnza college to study nursing but wound up in the darkroom developing film and blowing up black and white prints. I went on to perfom candid, portrait and wedding photography in CA and NV. Intermixed with that was working as a web developer and web design specialist. My true love is being outside and over the years I have sold prints and greeting cards containing my work.

This is an evolving topic. Currently none of my images are produced “artificially”. They are manipulated with processing software called Capture One, Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop if necessary. I do minimal after processing however. I am old school meaning I try and get the best possible shot at the time I am holding the camera. I’d rather be out in the field than at a desk all day. Adobe has come out with new policies regarding their software and A.I., I don’t have a solid opinion on this as of yet. But rest assured there is a human taking these pictures with a digital camera set to manual or AE priority.

I started off with a Pentax Spotmatic. Today my cases contain everything from Sony, Fuji, Pentax and OM. I have shot 35 mm film, medium format film, full frame digital, 4/3rds, APC sized. If I had to pick one camera that I completely regret selling it would be my Rollei rangefinder. And probably my Bronica GS-1.

I live in Spring Creek NV currently but have resided in Reno, Dayton, Fernley and Elko Nevada. I have also called Helena MT and San Jose CA home.
I travel locally, exploring interesting regions of Northeastern Nevada. One of our companion animals has cancer and therefore I do not stray far from her at the moment. However I have always felt you can find an entire world in your backyard.
Please see Collections for shoots of specific areas.

I believe in simplicity hence this site does not employ a myriad of distractions. It is a refuge to enjoy nature, Nevada and gain insight into the diversity of this state. If you have issues using this site, please contact me immediately. (Image is the Mound Valley Schoolhouse, Jiggs, NV)
